The first national tandem cycling race was held in Firlej and Lubartów in autumn 1998. There were 18 teams from 4 clubs in Poland participating in the event, and it was the team from Lublin – stoker Robert Boguszewski with pilot Michał Wit-Rusiecki, who won the competition. The next year we organized two editions – in spring and autumn. At the time the race had 3 stages – individual time trial, street criterion and mass start. Since 2000 the race has become an international event with 3 teams from abroad and 22 from Poland. From that moment the race is traditionally held during the May weekend as a multistage event. Despite many problems arising during successive editions, the race has become one of the largest international tandem cycling races which are organized in Poland.
